Famine

I received this forward from a friend of mine that works with The Mossy Foot Project. Ethiopia is in what is called Pre-Famine.

Here is the actual email I received "The people here, especially the farm families in the countryside are suffering from food shortage. The landscape looks deceptive because it is so green from the recent rains; however, the crops were planted late due to the drought so the people won't have enough food until the crops mature. Last week when we were at one of the MF clinic sites we saw about one hundred mothers with their babies at the governments clinic being weighed in. They were practically skeletons. Many small children, older people, and cattle have died. When the farmers loose their oxen they have to plow by hand."
