Baby Jake

Last week we were asked if we could watch a friends 3 month old for one night. His name is Jake. Jaimie, of course, said sure. I didn't think too much about it when she told me what we would be doing. Thursday came and when I got home from work there he was. He is an awesome little ball of fun with blond hair and blue eyes. We held him and played with him. It was a great time. He slept through the night and was up around 6:30 the next morning. Sadly, we had to give him back Friday afternoon. That was difficult.

Being in the middle of this process, I sort of lost sight of what we were actually doing and how our lives would change. Keeping Jake really brought the whole thing home for me. It made me more excited and impatient than I have ever been. The call from the agency cannot come soon enough.
